Information
Travel
December is the peak tourist season in Phuket, and the King’s Cup is held over the course of two long public holiday weekends in Thailand, traditionally the busiest times for airlines and hotels.
Luckily there are many airlines (including new low-cost airlines) which fly into Phuket, both direct from Bangkok, but also from other international hubs, such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
It is advisable to book flights as soon as you can, and many airlines enable online bookings to be made.

Phuket Island
Phuket is a rare place that really can claim to have everything. Some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere, tropical jungle, superb local food and a fascinating history and culture, and that's just on the island. Countless islands are within a day's sail or less.
Phuket and its surrounding islands comprise one of the most spectacular sailing grounds in the region, with beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters and a stunning geography. Lying in the Andaman Sea, Phuket is Thailand's premier island destination and the country's wealthiest province outside Bangkok. Whether it be cruising, island hopping, climbing, fishing, shopping, or just lying on a beach, Phuket and surrounds have something to offer everyone.
Geography
Phuket Island is 50km long and connected to the mainland by Sarasin and Thaothepkrasattri Bridges at the northern tip. Phuket's tropical coastline consists primarily of sandy bays divided by rocky peninsulas, with some more sheltered areas featuring large expanses of mudflats and mangroves. Running almost half the length of the island, separating east from west, is a ridge of mountains.
Weather
Phuket's warm winter climate is one reason that a few million tourists visit Phuket each year. The northeast monsoon wind blows from November to April bringing with it clear, sunny skies and an average temperature of 30-32?C. Known as the rainy season, the southwest monsoon runs from May to October and with it comes higher humidity, fluctuating temperatures and intermittent rain shower.
